Fans preparing takeover bid for Sheffield Wednesday
A consortium of Sheffield Wednesday fans are preparing a £10m takeover bid for the Owls. Wednesday Forward, a group made up of local, London-based and foreign businessmen are thought to be planning to submit their bid within the next couple of days. Headed up by Rotherham businessman Spencer Fearn, Wednesday Forward has assured fans that they will be given the opportunity to buy into their club. In May, Sheffield Wednesday rejected the £2m initial bid from Chicago-based consortium Club9 Sports. However, it is now also believed that a bid may be imminent from Norwegian Oil Millionaire Berge Larsen who currently owns Hartlepool. Speaking to The Star Newspaper yesterday Fearn said “we are not 100 per cent there but we are very confident we can get the deal together”.
We have successfully recruited an excellent individual to join our finance function through Caroline at CRA Consulting last year. We have been really impressed with the quality of the candidates they put forward and the level of service throughout the process. They really understood the requirements of the role and personality of the person to fit the culture of our organisation, not wasting our time with unsuitable candidates. We value their understanding and professional approach and will continue to use them in future recruitment.
