AML Compliance Manager £35,000 to £42,000 plus hybrid working and substantial benefits

My client is a leading financial services organisation who is going from strength to strength. An experienced individual is required to work within a product team and co- ordinate the creation and implementation of a risk framework and develop and monitor various risk controls within the Risk Control Self -Assessment (RCSA) framework. This represents the 1LoD for the team and the role leads on identifying, managing, and reporting the non-financial risks within the team, including those relating to Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing, Market Abuse and Bribery and Corruption Fraud.

Key areas of responsibility include:
  • Review and improve existing frameworks by the product team and create new frameworks as appropriate and be aligned to the organisations existing framework.
  • Provide regular and accurate 1LoD reports and management information to SLT, Boards and committees on fraud and Financial Crime Risk profile, the effectiveness of fraud and financial crime controls and overall position against risk appetite.
  • Coordinate the identification, measurement and mitigation and reporting of material risks and drive the RCSA process with and on behalf of the fund.
  • Track and monitor material risks and escalate to leadership teams as appropriate.
  • Lead on the provision of timely and accurate management information, metrics, KRI's on the status of risk and controls.
  • Lead on the horizon scanning process to identify and manage emerging risks
  • Lead on reviews of suspicious activities to identify and manage emerging risks
  • Lead on reviews of suspicious activities and enhanced due diligence, advise on, and coordinate any remediation of issues arising
  • Act as a risk champion
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders including government bodies

The Person
  • It is essential that you have extensive experience in non-financial risk management and control experience
  • Ideally, you will have experience within a first line or second line risk management function of a financial services company
  • You will have excellent communication skills and well developed interpersonal skills
  • Experience in asset management or the financial services sector would be ideal, as well as knowledge of certain laws including AMLRs and POCA
  • It would be ideal if you had experience of start-up and early stage-SME finance and the associated risks, as well as experience of working with a distressed portfolio.
