Cavity Wall Litigator

Job Title: Cavity Wall Insulation Litigator Location: Sheffield Salary: £25,000 – £33,000 per annum

The firm is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Cavity Wall Insulation Litigator to join their expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of cavity wall insulation claims, providing expert legal advice, and representing clients in court.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage a caseload of cavity wall insulation claims from inception to completion, ensuring all deadlines and procedural requirements are met.

2. Provide expert legal advice to clients on issues relating to cavity wall insulation, including but not limited to negligence, breach of contract, and statutory duties.

3. Draft legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence with clients, opposing parties, and third parties.

4. Conduct thorough investigations into claims, gathering and reviewing relevant evidence, including expert reports, surveys, and documentation.

5. Negotiate settlements with opposing parties, ensuring the best possible outcome for clients.

6. Represent clients in court, conducting advocacy as required and instructing counsel when necessary.

7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments to ensure the provision of accurate and current legal advice.

8. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and external contacts, including surveyors, engineers, and other professionals.

9. Contribute to the firm's business development and marketing activities, participating in seminars, workshops, and networking events as required.

10. Maintain accurate records and case management systems, ensuring compliance with data protection and confidentiality regulations.

Key Requirements:

1. Qualified solicitor or legal executive with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in cavity wall insulation litigation or a related field.

2. Strong knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to cavity wall insulation claims.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.

4. Exceptional negotiation and advocacy skills, with a proven track record of achieving successful outcomes for clients.

5. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a busy caseload and meet deadlines.

6. A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

7. A commitment to professional development and staying abreast of industry developments.

8. Experience in business development and marketing activities is desirable but not essential.
