Job Title: Criminal Solicitor
Location: Sheffield, UK
Salary: £32,000 - £48,000 per annum, plus out-of-hours bonus.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Criminal Solicitor to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal law, be duty accredited, and possess excellent communication and advocacy skills.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Criminal Solicitor, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Advising and representing clients in criminal matters, including providing legal representation at police stations and court proceedings.
- Managing a diverse caseload, including conducting thorough research and analysis of case facts, legal issues, and relevant legislation.
- Drafting legal documents, including correspondence, witness statements, and pleadings.
- Conducting case preparation, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service.
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other professionals within the criminal justice system.
- Representing clients in Magistrates' and Crown Courts, as well as other tribunals and appellate courts, as required.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm requirements, including maintaining accurate records and adhering to confidentiality protocols.
- Participating in the firm's out-of-hours rota and providing on-call support to clients as needed.
- Continuously updating legal knowledge and skills through professional development and training.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 2 years PQE in criminal law (candidates with more experience are also encouraged to apply).
- Duty Solicitor accreditation (preferred but not essential).
- A strong academic background, including a Law degree (LLB) or Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and completion of the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE).
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills, with the ability to effectively represent clients in various court settings.
- Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- A proactive and organized approach to managing caseloads and meeting deadlines.
- A commitment to the principles of client care, ethical practice, and the highest professional standards.
- A valid driving license and access to a vehicle, as travel to client meetings and court appearances may be required.
