This is a small law firm based in Sheffield, known for our exceptional dedication to their clients. They specialize in a variety of legal sectors, and are currently in need of an experienced Debt Recovery Locum Lawyer to their dedicated team on a temporary basis for around 3 months
Job Description:
As a Debt Recovery Locum Lawyer, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of small claims and litigation cases primarily related to debt recovery. This temporary position is expected to last for 3 months whilst they recruit for a permanent memeber of staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and manage a portfolio of small claims and litigation cases related to debt recovery.
- Develop and implement robust strategies for successful debt recovery.
- Negotiate with debtors and their legal representatives to facilitate debt repayment and settlements.
- Prepare legal documents and letters of claim, default notices, and statutory demands.
- Represent clients in court proceedings as necessary.
- Provide advice and guidance to clients on debt recovery legal matters.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all cases and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified solicitor, legal executive or lawyer in the UK with a valid practising certificate.
- Proven experience in debt recovery and litigation.
- Strong understanding of debt recovery legislation and regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, research, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using legal software.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a high volume of cases.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a law firm environment.
- Knowledge of local area and clientele.
