Job Title: Head of Wills and Probate Solicitor
Location: Huddersfield Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per annum, depending on experience
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Our client, a well-established and reputable regional law firm in Huddersfield, is seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Wills and Probate Solicitor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to lead the department and take on a key role in the continued growth of the firm, with partner prospects for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the Wills and Probate department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services to clients.
- Handle a varied caseload of wills and probate matters, including drafting wills, administering estates, obtaining grants of probate, dealing with trusts, and advising on inheritance tax.
- Provide specialist legal advice and guidance to clients on complex matters related to wills, trusts, and probate.
- Develop and implement departmental strategies to drive growth, improve efficiency, and enhance the firm's reputation in the market.
- Mentor, train, and develop junior team members, helping them to reach their full potential.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional client care and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.
- Work collaboratively with other departments within the firm to cross-sell services and identify opportunities for business development.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in relevant legislation and industry best practices to ensure the firm remains compliant and competitive.
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate and a minimum of 5 years' PQE in Wills and Probate.
- Proven track record in handling a diverse range of wills and probate matters.
- Excellent technical knowledge of wills, trusts, probate, and tax matters.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth and improve departmental performance.
- A commitment to providing exceptional client care and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.
- Experience in business development, marketing, and networking is highly desirable.
