Role: HR Manager Role at Prestigious Law Firm
Lcation: Sheffield 
Salary range: £35,000 to £50,000 

 

Join a leading Sheffield-based law firm as the pivotal HR Manager. Collaborate directly with the Directors, steering the HR team towards achieving both its operational and strategic goals.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture professional relationships with firm partners and line managers, delivering essential HR counsel.
  • Champion continuous performance evaluation, emphasizing regular, transparent feedback.
  • Extend support and insights to practice zones and auxiliary teams on strategic and everyday matters.
  • Ensure all employee engagement activities comply with firm policies and are addressed effectively.
  • Address and manage disciplinary and grievance challenges seamlessly.
  • Stay abreast of employment laws, industry best practices, and employment trends; share crucial updates proactively.
  • Monitor employee attendance and take proactive corrective measures.
  • Initiate, implement, and refresh HR policies and systems, ensuring regular updates to the firm’s handbooks.
  • Pioneer HR projects that align with and promote the firm’s broader objectives.
  • Assess and source training needs, fostering ties with training facilitators.
  • Architect the firm’s yearly internal training plan.
  • Oversee recruitment and training budgets for designated practice areas and teams, tracking progress annually.
  • Handle HR budgeting and forecasting efficiently.
  • Aid the HR Director in executing annual salary evaluations and bonus allocation.
  • Direct, guide, and nurture HR team members.
  • Strategize and deploy HR initiatives in tandem with the HR Director.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Academic excellence, preferably at degree level.
  • CIPD qualification is a plus.
  • Robust generalist HR experience, especially in legal or professional sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR operations.
  • Prior experience in team management and development.
  • Superior project management capabilities.
  • Outstanding relationship-building competencies.
