Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive to join a long-established Law firm in Southwell. As a key member of this team, you will manage a diverse caseload, providing expert legal advice and assistance to the private clients. This role primarily involves handling matters related to wills, Lasting Power of Attorney, probate, Inheritance Tax (IHT), trusts, and complex estate administrations. The successful candidate will work in the Southwell office, benefiting from a pleasant and friendly working environment situated in the heart of the historic town centre.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload of private client matters, including wills, Lasting Power of Attorney, probate, IHT, trusts, and complex estate administrations.
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and assistance to clients, ensuring their interests are protected and their objectives are met.
- Conduct thorough client consultations, gathering relevant information, and assessing their individual needs and circumstances.
- Draft and review legal documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and estate administration papers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Undertake legal research to stay updated on changes in legislation and case law related to private client matters.
- Represent clients in legal proceedings, including court appearances and negotiations with opposing parties.
- Liaise with external professionals, such as accountants, financial advisors, and tax specialists, to provide holistic solutions for clients’ legal and financial needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, providing exceptional client service and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Actively participate in business development activities, including networking, marketing, and client referrals, to contribute to the growth and success of the firm.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and developments through continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor or legal executive with a minimum of 3 to 10 years of experience in private client law.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in wills, Lasting Power of Attorney, probate, IHT, trusts, and complex estate administrations.
- Excellent understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Proven track record of successfully managing a caseload of private client matters from inception to completion.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in drafting legal documents.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients in a clear and concise manner.
- Outstanding client service skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for legal research, document management, and case management.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies and commitment to continuous professional development.
