Location: Outskirts of Leeds

A small legal practice are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Residential Conveyancer to join a friendly team in their out-of-town office near Leeds. As a specialist in residential property, you will manage a varied caseload and provide exceptional legal services to the valued clients. Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a diverse caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including freehold and leasehold transactions, remortgages, transfers of equity, shared ownership, and help-to-buy schemes.
  2. Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing exceptional customer service, legal advice, and regular updates on the progress of their transactions.
  3. Liaise with estate agents, mortgage lenders, local authorities, and other solicitors to ensure the timely progression of conveyancing matters.
  4. Review and draft legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, mortgage deeds, and Land Registry applications.
  5. Conduct searches and investigate the legal aspects of property transactions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.
  6. Identify and manage potential risks and issues, providing appropriate solutions to safeguard clients' interests.
  7. Participate in business development initiatives and maintain relationships with existing clients and professional contacts.
  8. Keep abreast of changes in conveyancing law and practice, ensuring continuous professional development and compliance with SRA requirements.
  9. Collaborate with colleagues and provide support and guidance to junior members of the team.

Requirements:

  1. Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Chartered Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years' experience in residential conveyancing.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of conveyancing law, procedures, and regulations, with a proven track record of managing a varied caseload.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and professional contacts.
  4. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  5. A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving, with the ability to identify and manage risks.
  6. High level of attention to detail and accuracy in drafting legal documents and correspondence.
  7. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with changes in conveyancing law and practice.
  8. A team player with a willingness to collaborate and support colleagues.
  9. Proficiency in the use of case management systems and standard office software.
