About the business:

Our client are an established leading Corporate Rescue and Recovery practice who are long-standing member of the Sheffield business community, they are trusted advisers to the major banks, independent accountancy practices & law firms. Due to an expansion in their recovery department, the firm are keen to hire an experienced recoveries executive or credit controller to join the team, in order to service their high profile clients.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the accounts receivable cases with the objective to collect outstanding debt via telephone, letter and e-mail
* Work with debtors to resolve issues with invoices whereby allowing payments to be processed
* Liaise with internal and external clients when dealing with queries arising from debtor conversations
* Working with other departments within the business, to assist payment queries and settlement requests
* Ensuring customer contact records are kept fully up-to-date
* Undertake any ad hoc administration duties to ensure the smooth running of the department
* Using past experience to asses and obtain funds due while using own initiative
* Manage own caseload and identify any issues within the team
* Communicate to credit manager collection position for ongoing cases

Ideal Experience

* Excellent communication skills with ability to follow through on difficult decisions
* Collections/Credit Control/Debt Recovery experience is essential
* Knowledge of contracts and an understanding of UK Insolvency and consumer credit laws would be highly advantageous
* Banking or Financial Services experience preferred (some ABL knowledge would be advantages)
* Ability to work within structured processes managing tasks efficiently and effectively
* Skilled in negotiation
* Adaptable, self-motivated team player
* Strong analytical skills
* High attention to detail
* Be proactive and acts on own initiative and have good problem-solving skills
* Ability to cope with change, be flexible and handle difficult situations
* Good communicator within the team and externally
* Open to different ways of working to achieve a common goal

IT Skills

* Excel (good understanding required)
* Word (min of intermediate preferred)
* Experience of using CRM systems - Sage/Xero
* Outlook

Other Skills:

* This is not a standard credit control role therefore a different collection background would be advantageous
* Builds and sustains deepening relationships with internal and external clients
* Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
