VAT Analyst Sheffield up to £30,000 plus benefits 

My client is a highly sucessful well established nice professional services business looking for an experienced individual to join as a VAT consultant. Ideally you will have had some exposure to VAT which could be in industry and be looking to specialise within the sector and develop your experience. Reporting to the Senior VAT consultant you will gain support and direction in the role . 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Working with a senior VAT consultant and indirect tax manager you will
– Produce accurate and timely VAT return declarations for clients.
– Manage new clients projects through initial implementation phase, prepare and submit registration applications to HMRC.
– Analyse purchase ledgers to ensure correct treatment for VAT return declarations.
– Work with clients to identify and analyse key expenditure.
– Liaise with clients customer base to negotiate contractual changes, including Local Authorities.
– Liaise with clients, HMRC and internal finance and marketing departments to promptly resolve queries.
– Support senior team members at VAT health checks and client site visits and provide follow up support.
– Assist with internal procedures

THE PERSON:
– Experience in the use of accounting software (eg Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) or the ability quickly become familiar with such software.
– Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
– Strong basic accounting knowledge is required and some VAT experience is desirable.
– Logical and analytical.

– Effectively manages time and resources, meets deadlines, and flags delays.
– Communicates openly and clearly both verbally and in writing.
– Pitches information at the appropriate level.
