If successful, you will perform the following role as a Legal Secretary:

  1. Administrative Support:
    • Drafting and preparing legal documents, including court forms and correspondence.
    • Managing solicitors’ diaries, scheduling appointments, and organizing meetings.
    • Handling incoming calls, emails, and correspondence from clients and other parties.
  2. Document Management:
    • Organizing and maintaining legal files, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Managing electronic and physical filing systems for easy retrieval of documents.
    • Processing and filing court documents in a timely manner.
  3. Client Interaction:
    • Acting as the first point of contact for clients, both in person and over the phone.
    • Providing updates on case statuses and answering client queries.
    • Ensuring excellent client service and maintaining a professional demeanor.
  4. Case Coordination:
    • Assisting solicitors in case preparation, research, and document analysis.
    • Coordinating with other departments within the firm to gather necessary information.
    • Liaising with external parties such as courts, barristers, and opposing counsel.
  5. Billing and Finance:
    • Assisting in the preparation of billing statements and managing client invoicing.
    • Tracking and recording billable hours and expenses related to family law cases.
