Role Overview:

  1. Case Management: Manage a caseload of contentious construction matters, including disputes related to contracts, defects, delays, payment disputes, and professional negligence claims.

  2. Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research to stay updated on construction laws, regulations, and precedents, ensuring that advice and strategies provided to clients are current and relevant.

  3. Client Consultation: Consult with clients to understand their needs and provide clear, concise legal advice. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent client service.

  4. Drafting: Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and settlement agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.

  5. Court Representation: Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings, advocating for their interests effectively and professionally.

  6. Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with opposing parties to seek amicable resolutions to construction disputes when appropriate.

  7. Legal Strategy: Develop and implement effective legal strategies to achieve favourable outcomes for clients in contentious construction matters.

  8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards, providing sound legal advice and upholding the firm’s reputation for excellence.

  9. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues within the construction law department and other practice areas to share knowledge and support the overall growth of the firm.
